October 4, 2011 - The Mid-Atlantic Renal Coalition, WVU School of Medicine, WV Center for End-of-Life Care, and the Kidney End-of-Life Coalition are hosting a webinar series beginning on November 3, 2011. 

July 20, 2011 -  The AARP has produced two (2) videos entitled “Dialysis Dilemma – Inside E Street” and the follow-up discussion  “Dialysis Debate - Inside E Street” which discuss the recently revised RPA/ASN Clinical Practice Guidelines on Shared Decision-Making in the Appropriate Initiation of and Withdraw from Dialysis, 2 nd Edition. The “Dialysis Dilemma” video features Coalition Chair and RPA/ASN working group Chair Alvin Moss, MD.  

June 16, 2011 - Read Dr. Lewis Cohen's interview with Renal Business Today, in which he discusses the legal and ethical implications for clinicians who provide palliative and end-of-life care for renal patients. Dr. Cohen is a Fellow of the Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine and Professor of Psychiatry at Tufts University School of Medicine, as well as a consultation psychiatrist at Baystate Medical Center, where he heads the Renal Palliative Care Initiative. Dr. Cohen has also contributed resources to the Kidney End-of-Life Coalition website.

June 6, 2011 - The Nous Foundation, Inc. offers videos to aid professionals with having difficult discussions with patients about advanced disease management, life-sustaining procedures, and advance care decision-making. The library also offers checklist tools for clinicians and patients/families. Health care providers can access the videos online at http://www.acpdecisions.org/videolibrary.html. The videos are not available for patients without the supervision of a health care provider.  FREE registration is required.
